When trying to run a program off another computer on the network, you can get this error message "The publisher could not be verified" and then asks you to confirm. This is a pain if you are using a program regularly.
Ideally I would like to authorize this one program, but I have not yet found out how to do that.
Another solution is to lower the security settings on the Intranet zone and then add the file server with the program to the Intranet zone.
Nothing is in the Intranet zone automatically. Still, I do not like this solution because I only want to authorize the programs under one folder, not every program on everything that I ever add to the Intranet zone.
You can make these changes through Internet Explorer, Tools, Internet Options, Security.
You can also run gpedit.msc and go to User Configuration, Administrative Templates, Windows Components, Attachment Manager
For the time being, I will live with the extra click to run the program rather than lower security on the Intranet zone.
